17 Nov Andreas Salcher – master builder of new forms of education
Andreas Salcher is not a man for the comfort zone. He is an architect of new forms of education, a border crosser between vision and reality. He does not think in pigeonholes, but in spaces of possibility. Fearless when it comes to the future. Prudent when it comes to connecting people. Restless in his drive to make the world a better place.
It was precisely this critical thought leader on educational issues who accepted TGW Future Wings’ invitation to the Nova Zone at Tabakfabrik Linz – a place that itself stands for new beginnings and innovation. Salcher is not only a bestselling author, but also a management consultant, former politician and internationally sought-after keynote speaker. As co-founder of the “Sir Karl Popper School” and initiator of the CURRICULUM PROJECT, he has been fighting for better schools and thus for better future prospects for thousands of students since 2008.
It was a particular pleasure to welcome this long-time friend and inspiring thinker to the stage and to host the evening. With his keynote speech “The best for children: learning today what we should be able to do tomorrow”, he made it clear that the future no longer rewards knowledge per se, but the ability to create something meaningful with it.
The evening was accompanied by strong personalities: Ms. Ruth Arrich, TGW Future Wings, vors. GF CAP.future GmbH, Project Manager GRAND GARAGE; Andrea Wurz, Project Manager INNERversum; and Ms. Tanja Obmann Lichtblau, Head of Corporate Communications TGW Future Wings as well as numerous parents and educators, who showed their interest in new forms of education and reforms through discussion-stimulating questions.
