08 Oct A HETZ or the last days of humanity
In 2009, Theater Hausruck under the artistic direction of Georg Schmiedleitner and Chris Müller an electrifying mixture of classical theater scenes (including those by Franzobel), performances, video documentaries, scientific statements and numerous surprises. The themes of the theatrical journey are the burning issues of our time: the opportunities and dangers of globalization, the background to major migration movements – from tourism to fleeing persecution and hunger. Narrated on the basis of human destinies between foreignness, resentment and solidarity.
Theater Hausruck transforms a church, inns and community centers, excursion destinations and public spaces into theatrical venues where our present is unvarnishedly negotiated. The Hausruck as a backdrop against which art and life merge – sometimes unnoticed.

They are joined by the author, dancer and attac activist Christian Felber and the globalization-critical publicist and clown Klaus Werner-Lobo. The sad truth behind TV statements is revealed by the cabaret trio Maschek (“Dorfers Donnerstalk”), while composer Rupert Schusterbauer contributes the theater music in his usual manner. The theater texts were written by, among others Franzobel, Stefan Brandtmayr is responsible for the stage designs, Cornelia Kraske is responsible for the costumes.
