Here you can count on anything, even light! The world’s first photonic AI computer from Q.ANT recently went into operation here. Cutting-edge research has been carried out here for a long time. 63 years of experience in high-performance computing, cloud services, IT security and research data management.
The Leibniz Supercomputing Center (LRZ) in Garching near Munich, an institute of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities, has been the central IT hub for research, teaching and science in Bavaria since it was founded in 1962 – especially for universities such as LMU and TUM as well as other research institutions.
The LRZ is a member of the Gauss Centre for Supercomputing (GCS) – together with Jülich and Stuttgart, it is one of the leading supercomputing centers in Europe.
The Leibniz Supercomputing Center is a high-tech innovation laboratory and proof that technological excellence, sustainable computing and application-oriented research are not mutually exclusive, but work synergistically. With systems such as the SuperMUC NG, the upcoming Blue Lion and innovation facilities such as BEAST and the V2C, the LRZ is setting standards throughout Europe. It embodies what characterizes future infrastructure in the digital age: Speed, networking, energy efficiency and a focus on research.
