BeneZ!PFball

“Theater and art tell of the terrible things that have happened to us. They fight against forgetting and teach those born later that cruelty and terror must never be repeated. That is a reason to celebrate.”

Dr. Paul Le Caer, survivor of the Redl-Zipf Nazi concentration camp

bene Z!PF ball – Celebrations on the Austrian day of remembrance against violence and racism in memory of the victims of National Socialism.

Concept and organization for the THEATER HAUSRUCK.

from 19.00 hrs, Zipf Brewery 4871 Zipf, No. 22, Upper Austria.

On July 19, 2007, Theater Hausruck will premiere Franzobel’s play Z!PF oder Die dunkle Seite des Mondes at the coal crusher in Kohlgrube/Wolfsegg. It takes up the story of the Redl-Zipf concentration camp, which the SS set up in 1943. While the residents had to paint their houses black for camouflage purposes, around 2,500 concentration camp prisoners dug a system of tunnels and bunkers into the Hausruck soil under the cruelest conditions. This was to house a branch of the organized Nazi counterfeit money production “Kommando Bernhard” as well as the production of fuel for the V2 rocket from liquid oxygen. Many prisoners succumbed to the hardships, died during the dangerous engine tests or were murdered by SS henchmen.

The bene Z!PF ball would like to get the entire region in the mood for this theater event. First of all, this includes a dignified commemoration of the victims and a clear commitment to coming to terms with history. Theater Hausruck achieves this with dramaturgical means and intensive information work. Around 200 people are working on the success of “Z!PF” in front of or behind the stage, and an entire region is talking about the play and its background.

The commemoration of the events of 60 years ago and the anticipation of “Z!PF” have a place in the bene Z!PF ball, the net proceeds of which go towards the artistic work of Theater Hausruck.

The bene Z!PF ball allows you to experience the Hausruck region with all your senses, from the delicacy buffet to the performing music ensembles. Where it says bene Z!PF ball, Hausruck is inside!
