As founding director, Chris Müller and his team have transformed Tabakfabrik Linz from a brownfield site to a thriving, profitable coliving site. After privatization and foreclosure, the quarter is now a highly frequented, open and internationally acclaimed place of innovation owned by the city of Linz, which Forbes magazine gave the hashtag #glow.
As a trained carpenter and stair builder, Chris Müller quickly changed genres, and the public became aware of him as director of Theater Hausruck, where he and his team were awarded Nestroy prizes, among others.
Asbestos disposal expert, restaurateur, machine operator, rock musician, artist, factory director, entrepreneur, real estate developer, CEO, Mag. Art. and Chief Visionary Officer of the DELTA Group – Chris Müller’s biography is as varied as the rock strata of the Hausruck lignite mining region. Growing up there, he was shaped by mining, the harsh climate and the code of the cronies.
With his diverse experience and seismographic intuition, he now advises politics and business as CEO of CMb.industries GmbH, with a particular focus on innovation ecologies. He is also the initiator of ATMOS Resort & Research – a project dedicated to healthy air.
Chris Müller is a member of the advisory board of “CAPE10 – House of Social Innovation” and an ambassador for the GRAND GARAGE innovation workshop and the Ministry of Curiosity and Future Studies. He runs the lifestyle label “Urban Miner”, is the author of the book “Achtet auf die Möwen” and initiator of the AUTline.
He is considered a pioneer of digital humanism, was instrumental in founding the first upper secondary school for digital humanism and, together with Abbot Reinhold Dessl, organized a three-day expedition to Wilhering Abbey with people from different professions. This commitment created further conditions for bringing more humanity into the digital world.
