Reading “Watch out for the seagulls!”

I began this writing in the “Silicon Valley of the High Renaissance”, Tuscany, 500 years after the death of Leonardo in Vinci, often broken off and now parts have been tightened, interwoven or omitted. The result is an autobiographical atlas for the rebellious and rebellious, which I have published under the title “Watch out for the seagulls!” for the first time on December 4th – the day of St. Barbara. The reading will be accompanied by the band “Eine feine Mischung”, with whom I have a friendship and who accompany my associative excursions musically.

about the book.

In this account of the first 50 years of my life, I associatively connect fragments and wander between the heroic sagas of my childhood, the myths of the world and the mysteries of my own soul. I look to role models who continue to occupy and shape me. Role models that made me leave the window of my childhood bedroom open in the harsh winter to feel the icy cold of Alaska and hear the call of Jack London.

To this day, fantasy and imagination drive me to discover the world inside and outside myself, to dream up new things and to shape my own life. With this in mind, I have spread out personal fragments and historical set pieces from five decades on an archaeological light table to trace a translucent treasure map.

At the same time, what is collected here should be understood as a plea for creative power, daring, creativity and hope. A motivating, associative atlas for those who are up and coming and rebellious, fragmented and fragile, searching, torn and wounded – of which I was once one. And, last but not least, a life-affirming logbook for my children Glenn and Mavie.

About the band.

Three men in their prime – because these are always the years in which they are getting older – think together, talk to people on stage and play songs that match what their guests are experiencing, feeling or wanting.

Friends Jacky Hanzhanz, WIFF La Grange and Reini Gruber are united by their mixture of talk and music, infotainment and entertainment, entertainment and attitude, as well as their interest in thinking outside the box and pursuing visions together. The trio has been on stage together as a fine mix since 2021. The format offers the opportunity to end workshops or corporate events in a different way than usual in a living room atmosphere, strengthening a team spirit with a cozy ending. A fine mix, in other words.

Jacky Hanzhanz (moderation, vocals, Cajun)
Wiff La Grange (moderation, piano, guitar)
