Sometimes only the horizon is missing the silver lining

At yesterday’s “Land in Sicht” (“Land in Sight”) industry day organized by Business Upper Austria in Steyr, I was able to expand the HORIZONT together with Steyr’s mayor Markus Vogl and in the presence of the Czech partners from MSID – Regionální rozvojová agentura, Lenka Haas and Jiri Stas, and present the first-class project “Horizont Steyr” as keynote speaker and project companion in the atmospheric ambience of the Altes Theater.

I gave a guided tour of the former prison, where I went into more detail about the history of the building, from Cölestine nuns in the convent to prison inmates, the elementary school and the old theater. For the people of Styria, the aura and the souls of the past were palpable. The tour ended in the showroom, which was created together with TP3 Architects.

This event attracted speakers from Ostrava to Berlin, interested people from the surrounding area, experts from the city and the country. With the incredible ambience of the Old Theater, which is reminiscent of a small Milan, Steyr shows not only symbolically but full of energy what is possible if we move forward with courage. With ‘Horizont Steyr’, a silver lining on the horizon has become internationally visible as of today. So the motto is ‘departure instead of escape’. This is how transformation can succeed – from prison to a place of freedom.
