The renowned Salzburg philosopher Dr. Bernd Waß will be making a guest appearance at the NOVA ZONE in Linz on April 22, just in time for Kant’s 300th birthday. He has accepted our invitation to present his latest work “The Age of Reason”.

Immanuel Kant is one of the grand masters of the Age of Reason. An era that is without doubt one of the most fascinating that philosophy has ever produced. In his book, Dr. Bernd Waß, co-director of the Vienna School of Philosophy and executive developer, outlines the basic outline of an era without which modernity would not exist. Along the contributions of its protagonists – Descartes’ philosophy of overcoming, Spinoza’s philosophy of freedom, Leibniz’s philosophy of reconciliation and Kant’s philosophy of disillusionment – he traces the path of a way of thinking whose revolutionary power still influences us today.

In addition to philosophy, art is also a must. The Viennese artist Martina Six illustrated the book and translated the cathedrals of the great thinkers, built from thousands of concepts, into pictures. Her works can be seen after the book presentation.

JUSTICE AND SOCIETY

On the Saturday before the book presentation, the first Linz Colloquium of the School of Philosophy will also be held in the NOVA ZONE, focusing on the topic of “Justice and Society” dedicated to “Justice and Society”. Together with the philosopher Bernd Waß, the participants will be looking for a philosophical, impartial and universally valid solution for a fairer distribution of basic goods in society.

In the face of increasingly complex challenges, organizations should team up with female philosophers. I have been calling for a quota for large companies for some time now. In my article “The answer of humanity is the question” I show why, among other things, it can be important to ask questions that have a deeper foundation and impact.
